Planner Templates are sets of Sections that you can “apply” to your Day Planner. Choosing a new Planner Template will replace the set of Sections that you currently use. You can choose and manage Planner Templates in the Planner Template Chooser by clicking the button at the top of the Day Planner.
The Planner Template Chooser lets you choose from Planner Templates that you’ve used before (My Templates). To switch to a new Template, simply highlight the Template and click the “Select” button to apply it to your Day Planner. You can also choose to use the “No Sections” Template which will remove all Sections from your Day Planner.
The Planner Template Chooser will let you easily swap between different Templates. For example, you may want to use a different Template for different days of the week, say one for “days in the office” and another for “days working from home”. Or, you may want a “work day” Template and another for “weekends”.
The Planner Template Chooser also lets you explore a catalog of Templates based on popular time management strategies. You can try popular approaches like “time boxing” where you break your day up into regular chunks. Or others like the “Eisenhower Matrix”, “Eat the Frog”, or “Big Rocks” that help you with prioritizing. There are others focused on students, weekly planning, and more. Click the “Explore” button in the Section Manager and find one that may work for you! We are constantly adding to this catalog so check back from time to time.
When you choose a new time management strategy from the catalog, DailyBalance will import it into your set of Planner Templates. Any customizations that you make after that (for example adding or deleting a Section) will be made to your copy of the Planner Template. If you ever want to go back to the original, simply find it again in the catalog and re-import it.
You can edit the names of the Planner Templates in the Planner Template Chooser by choosing “Rename…”. You can also delete and duplicate Templates as well.
