When you open DailyBalance each morning, you will have a task in your Inbox called “Plan your Day”. This task will get automatically created each day*.
Let us explain how it can help you get your day started.
When you click on Play your Day, it launches the Daily Review Assistant which is a collection of shortcuts that will help you quickly get ready to plan your day.
This assistant has 3 sets of options that you can select to automate actions in DailyBalance.
* If you want to stop the Plan your Day tasks from appearing each day, you can disable “Generate Plan your Day tasks” in Settings.
1. Set up your Day Planner
The first thing to do when setting up your Day Planner for the day is you can choose to Clear your Day Planner. Each day brings its own set of priorities so you should start each day with a clean slate (literally!)
Remember, clearing the Day Planner doesn’t delete the tasks from the Master List. It only removes them from the planner so you can start fresh TODAY.
The second option lets you decide how to “section off” your day.
This lets you divide your day up into sections by choosing one of our Section Templates.
For example, you might want to “Timebox” your day so you can choose that Section template. Or maybe it’s a weekend and you want to choose “Weekend Day”. Whichever Section template you choose will be applied.
This is not “checked” by default since a lot of people tend to use the same Sections each day.
2. Organize any new stuff
Each morning items will appear in your Inbox from triggers firing or from tasks that you added yesterday. There might also be items in the Inbox from tasks added from Alexa. These items should be moved to the appropriate folder in your Master List (This Week, Upcoming or Someday) depending on their urgency.
You can choose to have the Inbox Processor launch to help you quickly move those items out of your Inbox folders. Click here for details on how this works.
You’ll also want to add any new tasks that have come up since yesterday. Go through emails and any other place where tasks “collect” and add them as tasks to your Master List.
3. Get set to Plan your Day
Now you’re ready to start your day. Click the Do Actions button on the bottom of the Review Assistant and you’re ready to then drag the tasks from “This Week” into your Day Planner.
