If an Excel file contains formulae that are not supported by Sheet To Go, or if it contains circular references, it will be “read only” on the handheld, and cannot be edited or changed in any way. When that file is opened in Sheet To Go, an “Unsupported Content” message will briefly appear near the top of the screen.
A small padlock icon will also appear near the upper-right corner of the screen to indicate that the file is locked and cannot be edited on the handheld. If you tap the padlock icon, the following message will appear “This file is read-only due to the following unsupported content.”
It will have a list of the worksheets and cells in the file which contain the unsupported content. These must be changed in the original file in Excel in order for Docs To Go to be able to edit them. The reason for this is that normally, when a value in a cell is changed, any functions that reference that cell will then change. This is expected when working with spreadsheets. But when a function is not supported, we don’t want any confusion to occur when the number in cell with the function does NOT change. Therefore, we make the file read only so no incorrect numbers will show up in a spreadsheet with unsupported functions.
