Issue with mSecure not importing all Passwords Plus records

UPDATE 3 (April 28)

FIXED! The latest version in the Windows Store is 268 and fixes the import issues.  If you have NOT already imported, you should follow the import instructions here.

If you did an update earlier this week and only got SOME of your passwords, then you should delete them so you don’t end up with duplicates.  Here’s how to do that:

 – Click on one entry in the list, then do “control A” to select all, and delete them (there’s a trash can on the upper right).

 – Go into the Trash and select all again and hit the trash can to permanently delete them.

Thank you again for your patience!!

UPDATE 2 (April 27):  Looks like the fix will be closer to the end of the week (4/29) or beginning of next week (week of May 2).  mSecure wants to be sure all the issues are fixed before releasing. If you emailed DataViz (Passwords Plus) for support on this issue, you will receive an email when it’s ready. In the meantime you can continue to use Passwords Plus. We are sorry for the inconvenience and are confident a solution will be ready soon.

UPDATE (April 24):

mSecure worked through the weekend and has fixed the import issue.  They are submitting the fix to the Windows app store and hope to have it approved by mid-week.  We will post here when it is available along with instructions on how to “clean up” the old import before you import again so you don’t end up with duplicate entries.

We are very sorry for any inconvenience this has caused and thank you for your patience!

We are aware of an issue where all records are not getting imported into mSecure from your Passwords Plus exported CSV file.

We are working with mSecure on a fix for this problem and hope to have something very soon. Please be patient while we work this out.

**It does appear that the issue is only on mSecure Windows so if you have even temporary access to a Mac, you can try to do the import into mSecure Mac. Even if you don’t plan on using the Mac going forward, you can just use it for the import, then sync and log into the Windows version and things should work correctly.**

In addition, we have some reports that the following may resolve the issue but does require some spreadsheet “skills”:

Use a text editor to convert single and double quotes to another character within the exported CSV file OR go through the data in PWP and remove all quotes.

This is something to try if you’re anxious to move into mSecure but is not necessary if you can wait for a real fix.

We will update this page as soon as we have a resolution.

The good news is that Passwords Plus is still usable in the meantime so there is no immediate rush for you move your records out right away.  But we are treating the issue with urgency and should have something soon.

Also – mSecure is getting flooded with tech emails regarding this so please have patience while we resolve this with them. Consider holding off for a bit before submitting an issue so that we can hopefully resolve this.
